also if want to lift it up 2in can i put 2.5in coil springs and those rs9000xl shocks and would that all workout ? as i havent found a 2in springs

huntsman 07-05-2010 09:53 PM

and il think ill go with these spacers as it saves me some money and the rest i could use for some tires

so heres my final list

rancho rs9000xl shocks http://www.quadratec.com/products/16019_9923.htm
rustys 2in poly front spacers http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchan...ory_Code=COILS
rustys 2in poly rear spacers http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchan...ory_Code=COILS

so that should give me a nice 2in lift am i correct ? Did i do this right as its my first time and these should all fit on my 2002 jeep grand cherokee laredo right ? as its a wj

That will work as far as I can see. I don't own a WJ so someone else who does please chime in.

Here is a good solid kit for you. Everything you need and nothing extra.

thanks for that but i really want to get those rancho shocks ima see if i can hit up auto zone or one of those stores and see if they can order it or get them for a cheaper price

also what are those bump stops things that some lift kits include do i need that ? or what i listed will do that job and i really do hope someone that owns a wj could chip in some info on this.

Bumpstops limit the amount of up travel your axle can do. Depending on how long your bumpstops are that is how far you axles can go up.

As you can see in this pic of my XJ I need to put longer bumpstops in my front. The tire stuffs great but at the sacrifice of ripping my BW flares off and bending my fender all to hell.

ah okay i see the the bump stops would stop the tire from going so far up and then hitting ur fenders, and do i need those ?

country_boy454 07-07-2010 12:16 AM

It all depends on how your going to use your WJ. I didn't put them on my ZJ because it is mainly a road vehicle. I have my XJ for the trails and rocks and mud!

ok i see, well i do want to do some mudding and some simple trails nothing to intense thats why only a 2in lift as it is a Daily driver.

So with those shocks that are for 2in lift can i put in 2.5in springs as i havent found anywhere yet 2in springs but ill keep looking

huntsman 07-08-2010 11:28 AM

actually i thought about it and think ill find a good lift kit as its my first time doing it and with the kit everything comes together instead of buying it separate so maybe this time ill find a good lift kit and later on when i get more into this il buy everything separate to have better quality.

also i thought about it and could i do a 2.5in lift without changing anything else in the car, just coils, shocks, bumpstops, sway bar and trackbar , and steering stabilizer would that work out fine, and of course some 31in tires, it seems like 2in is to little lol, and 2.5in looks good to me hehe.
