My cherokee is misfiring?
I own a 98 zj 5.2 V8
When I seem to sit at idle for 30 seconds or more, it wants to spudder and the intake sucks in more air when this happens. But then it jumps out of it and revs up a few thousand rpms then stops and goes to normal. It does something kinda similar when taking off sometimes. It likes to spit and spudder for a short period of time. Then I get a knocking noise and the whole engine starts knocking. Then it jumps out of it in a few. It's getting to be a real problem lately and I need an answer for what is going on so I can fix it. Thanks.

Sounds like the IAC motor is screwing up. The IAC controls airflow into the engine at idle and adjusts the RPMs as well. Common problem on most ChryCo V-8s and V-6s with higher mileage.
Secondly, you have a Grand Cherokee (Zj model for reference). Asking for Cherokee parts will get you Xj pieces/advice instead. Two different platforms with different approaches to diagnose/repair.
