Motor dying issues
Ok there is a guy that I know. He needs some help.
He has a 96 grand with a 4.0l and a auto. His problem is that he can start it go down the road. Smash the throttle and it is fine he can do it again a minute later and he has power to the gauges but it acts like some one turned the motor off. But it comes back after a few it almost dies. Some times it won't start and some times it starts. It doesn't matter if its cold or at operating temp. It does it no matter what. Here is a lust on what he has placed.
Pcm computer
Body and engine wiring harness
Coil
Spark Plugs and wire
Distributor cap and rotor
Cam and crank sensor
Throttle position sensor
Idle air control valve
Ignition switch
Fuel pump
6 injectors
Fuel filter
Battery cables
Side note
Cat us gutted and backfires once in awhile.
All the grounds that he can find has been checked. He has been working on this problem for 6 months. Had it at a dealership they couldn't find a code thrown and had it at two different shops.
Can anybody help diagnose this problem.
Thanks much appreciated
Sincerely

Jack, check to make sure the paper spacer is still on the crank posistion sensor. Also make sur the cam shaft sensor is in the right position, some times things can get loose and the cam sensor can shift. Same is true with the crank posisition sensor.
