Map sensor issues? I think so
I was encountering an issue with my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 2WD 4.0. The Jeep would die at idle. And if I let it fall below 1000 rpm while I drive it also stumbles then dies. It also stumbles during acceleration as well. At first it seemed to be a bad map sensor. Replaced it with the same result. Replaced the throttle position sensor and idle air control valve. Same result. Replaced map sensor again thinking it was bad initially or that it had got fried. Did some multi-meter tests and it seemed to be the PCM. I ordered a plug-and-play from Ebay and changed it not once but twice thinking it was bad initially also. Same result. The only code its giving me is P0107. I am getting 5 volts to the reference wire and the ground is good. However I was only receiving .02 volts from the signal wire both at the map sensor connector and at the connector going into the PCM. The voltage did go up slightly to .04 and sometimes .05 upon revving the engine and dropped to .01 upon deceleration and back to .02 while the engine did stay running at times. I don't see any obvious vacuum leaks. I have cleaned out the throttle body which wasn't terribly dirty. I was hoping you could give some insight to something I might be overlooking or refer me to someone in the Arlington Texas (DFW) area. Any leads would help me tremendously. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this and/or help in any way possible.
I know this is old but just curious as to if you ever figured out the problem.. My 03 jeep is doing the exact same thing.. Just recently replaced the pcm as well as everything you did and nothing.. Quite sad
Well it turns out that when my jeep had been leaking some oil. In doing so the corrugated cable protector around the bundle of wires coming from the map sensor, along with other wires inside, collected oil. So it had essentially become a fryer. It ended up melting the casings to all four or five wires and become one solid wire. It caused pandemonium. I had to cut open the cable protector to even see anything was wrong. So I ordered a replacement map sensor connector and just cut out the mess of wires and spliced it to the new connector, one at a time. Haven't had the issue since. Hope this helps.
Moral of our story I guess.. Check your wiring, wherever it may be. All those damn issues and all that money spent just for it to be the wiring going from the door to under the hood. One day my dad was like.. I need to check the wiring in the boot. He comes over and starts the jeep and wiggled the wires and suddenly there were no problems. Drove it to his house that night in tears cause I haven't driven it in like 3 years cause of this 'map sensor' issue.. He calls me a few days later to help him finish up reoding the wiring and there it was. Problem solved. So frustrating. Car probs? Check your wiring, lol.
But here I am 4 months later and now my jeep wont reverse! Sometimes theres a loud grinding sound in reverse and it will move almost an inch. Sometimes theres no noise. So far seems to be driving fine but I still won't drive it. I did for a short time tonight but it made this really loud sound at one point so I turned around. I wasn't sure if it was trying to shift or not, wasn't paying attention to anything but getting home. Sad jeep sitting in parking lot yet again. Time for another adventure.. I won't give up. Glad you fixed your problem!

I had the same problems.... replaced everything and nothing helped
I took it to a jeep mechanic here in georgia. I called a place called Southern Off Road Specialists and asked them for their best jeep mechanic recommendation.
The mechanic discovered that several pins in my wire harnesses going into the PCM needed to be repinned and they tested all the wires and found several broken ones replacing those along with repinning several connections in my harnesses. Havnt had any of those issues since
