Default Lift help!

Hey guys quick question. I tried looking around for this but couldn't find much but anyways, I have a 98 zj and my friend has an 01 xj. He's doing a 6.5" on his so he won't be needing his coil springs anymore. He's got a rough country 3" lift on the front of his truck. My questions is, can I run the same front coils as an xj? He's offered to give me his coil springs for the front so that way I can run mine in the rear and have a 3" lift for the front of my truck. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
