Hello folks, I just picked up a 98' Grand Cherokee 5.9L . When I went to the gas station (got her on empty) the gas poured out under the rear after 19 gal had been put in. This happened again after the second fill-up.

I did get 16.67 mpg, not bad.

So I'm thinking she needs a new fuel tank, they are plastic and it must have broke somehow.

Let me know if there's something I need to know. Recall, common problem, easy fix, etc. .

Haven't heard about a recall. You might be able to drain it and epoxy it. I'd start looking for another tank though. Look on NAGCA --> http://www.nagca.com/forum/
You might find one in the for sale section, or someone might be parting their car out. Good luck.
