Default Jeep Grand cherokee investigation

so incase you havent heard theres a investigation going on about the location of the gas tank on pre 2004 models, saying it could explode if you get rear ended, im just wanting to see if anyone had anything to say about it

if there is a recall or fix from jeep do we all get the repairs for free? or just the original owners?
be nice if they added a skid plate there

Not worried, very few deaths recorded for the millions of Grand Cherokees sold.

x2 as well for you GC guys. IF there was a recall, it would apply to the current owner of the vehicle. I bought my XJ last February, and it never had the debris shield installed as per a recall for debris collecting on the intake, and I took it to the dealership and they installed it.

The gas tank on my Saturn is virtually in the exact same location as my Cherokee.
