Default Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine knocking sound

I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee (Limited Edition, engine 4.7L) and I now hear a very loud knocking sound in the engine.
It all started 2 days ago, whilst I was driving, the engine went off and I pulled over and tried to start it like 5 time before it started. this same thing happened 3 more time before I got home and then I could hear a squeek sound in the engine. I added some engine oil to top the oil and when I started the engine and accelerated the squeek noise continued and then the knocking sound started. Noise the knocking sound is loud and when i am driving the knocking sound increases and become louder as i accelerate.

kindly help , what can i do to solve this problem?

How much oil did you have to add?

Similar to a problem I'm having, I know it's a long time since you posted, but did you get it sorted? What was the case?
