i have a jeep grand Cherokee 2003 2.7 crd blowing black smoke all the time (even at idle - grey) obviously its running rich, i have replaced the turbo over 12 months ago, having checked it the other day it has no oil leaks or play in shaft it also seems to boost up ok when driving. i have done leak test & replaced 3 injectors so they all ok, pump done 1.5 years ago as well & seems ok, map sensor also replaced. it seems to bog down when driving on the accelerator though when backing off it is a lot more responsive, it smokes a lot when idling & when first taking off, it has me baffled.

You have checked if the injectors leak, but have you checked if they are balanced? I has the same smoke problem, 2 injectors had different flow than others and my car used to smoke a lot. You can check the flow with proper diagnostics.
Also check if the turbo hose is not leaking air.
