1996 Grand cherokee limited 4x4. quit while driving. Engine tries to turn over but no starting it. Guages will not work either. Radio & lights work also. It just will not start. replaced the distributor but no go. Please Help!!!

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter
Spray some starting fluid into the intake and try and start the engine. If it tries to start you have a fuel problem. If it does not try to start you have a spark problem. Start there and report back.
