IRO 3" purchased...
and no, no pics yet. Not installed, but in my Jeep
Hopefully TSCONVER, you will respond since you've done this most recently. I've got the directions and although they are easy to follow, I'm wondering if you had to loosen your control arms? I was hoping I would be able to "jack stand", remove the shocks and using spring compressors, take the old out and squeeze the new one's in. I plan on doing the install here in a few weeks, I'm buying my rims and tires next week...

You're keeping both stock upper and lowers? My kit came with new lowers...Anyway, On my kit once the sway bar links and shocks were removed, I was able to lower the axle enough to pull out the old springs and pop the new ones in...If that is what you are asking...

I did not touch my control arms, discoed the shocks and sway bar and used a compressor to make the longer spring easier to get in but it was nt too terrible to do. Also put the jack under the opposite side I was working on and lifted teh axle to cause the side I was on to droop even more, just becareful not to take all teh weight onto the jack, leave the body sitting on the jack stand.
also easier to put the spring compressor on teh spring before you let teh axle down if you are using it to remove the old spring. I did since I had pucks under mine making it harder to get the old ones out.
Also found it easier to remove both springs before putting the longer ones back in. The second comes out real easy once the first is out as you can really move the axle around to open it up.
Oh and cuss and swear at it alot, makes the neighbors nervous and the jeep likes it.

and probably a little knuckle scraping as well! But in the end, it'll all be worth it! What rims did you decide to go with?
I'm looking at some steel wheels, probably a cragar or procomp or something of that nature. I did hear that the Dick Cepek DC1 rims have more clearance for larger brakes though, and you may be able to go to a a 15" with those. They're an aluminum alloy though, not a steel...

...and I'm seriously re-thinking my tire decision. I really want to get something off the www.4wheelparts.com web site. I've changed my mind on the XMT's because they really do just look like an aggressive AT.
Everything else I see there though in the 31's don't really net 31". My only fear is that they'll look too small.

Careful...most 15" rims won't clear the calipers on the WJ's See if you can test fit a wheel on your vehicle before you buy them, or go with a 16" rim.

I've already test fit a 15x7 3.75" BS. They'll fit just fine...
And yes, although cheaper at Quadra... it's buy three get on free at 4wheel!

Sweet...Sounds like a good deal....Don't know anything about those particular tires, but as for sizes, most tire manufacturers will list actual diameters in the specs.
For those Dick Cepek Radial Mud Country, the 31" tire is a true Diameter of 30.8"
I wouldn't worry about them looking too small. They'll look good!
