Hi, I have a 98 4.0 grand Laredo , I picked up this problem this week , once after sat for five days , the car would not idle, after a few miles it cleared - I had a long drive to do so once out of town it didn't matter, then yesterday in the morning it ran fine, in the afternoon went for a trip out started not idleing
Bucking bronco style driving jeez horrible . Stopped for five , restarted it was fine . I think the first thing I will do is change fuel filter but any ideas ??

 

Thinking out loud here , the throttle had no affect , wasn't matching engine in drive , settled in neutral to get it going again . Maybe TPS needs a check too .
