Injector/engine cleaner methods?

Injector/engine cleaner methods?
Hey all,
Been thinking about trying to clean out my injectors and what-not. A buddy of mine put some Gumout injector/carburetor directly into his engine and instantly his Nissan Quest minivan ran and idled smoother. I'm not too keen on using/doing the SeaFoam thing. Can I run Gumnout through my intake manifold or something similar through my '96 ZJ safely or no..? Any suggestions on this would be great as my idle has been a bit rough for awhile now and kind of hesitates when I first get it going in the day.

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter
You can put Seafoam directly in the fuel tank and you will notice a difference by the end of a tank of gas.
