Hello people. I'm new to the forum and have some questions about my '04 Grand Cherokee. It idles really high about 80% of the time. When I start it up it revs to about 1000. Sometimes after I put it in park it will rev up to 1500 or higher before it slowly returning to about 750. What is going on here? Any ideas?

It also doesn't seem to know what gear it wants to be is at 60 mph. it will downshift seemingly at random even with steady pressure on the accelerator. Any help is much appreciated.

 

for the idle you can try to clean the throttle body ad replace the iac(idle air control valve)im not to sure about the transmission

has anyone else experienced the transmission problem? Could it be related to the idol issue?

 

Im pretty sure its either the IAC valve or your throttle position sensor thats bad. Go to the junkyard and get yourself a new tps.

 

dont get a new tps from the jy get a new one its not worth it
