How do I reset my security system on a 96 GC limited 318..and if it is flipped will it keep it from sending spark to the coil

 

In my 94 GC to reset the alarm, you insert the key in either front door lock or the hatch and unlock it, this should reset your alarm and the lights will stop flashing. Yes, it will prevent the vehicle from starting, on my 94, a low battery drives the alarm nuts. HTH, Good luck!
