Horn randomly goes off On our 05 Grand Cherokee
Please help,we have owned our Jeep Grand Cherokee hemi from new in 05 and we still love it.But about 3 months ago the horn would occasionally go off for a split second for no reason while we were driving.Well it's getting worse,it seams to be coming from the indicator control somewhere,as if you wiggle it when it goes off, which incidentally it stays on a little longer now,it will stop.
I've has a look under the panel next to the steering column for any loose writers but no luck.has anyone got any ideas?im sick of waving at everyone when the horn blows

No airbag light on.I replaced the relay fuse and doable the horn for the door locks on the remote hoping that it was an easy fix,but alas it wasn't

I would agree with Bustedback that the clockspring could well be at issue.
In operation, the horn circuit is not switched via the ignition. The horn relay (which switches power to the horn) is configured such that it is energised by switching the low side to earth (0V) – achieved by the horn switch. Therefore if there is short (in the wire to the horn switch) to chassis, the horn will sound, even if the ignition is off.
The ‘clockspring’ is the wiring arrangement that allows the steering wheel to turn (lock to lock), but still provide electrical connection to the horn switch and drivers airbag, within the steering wheel. If it is the clockspring, then I would expect movement of the steering wheel to break the momentary chassis short (causing the horn to sound) – and it nothing to do with the indicator stork. I would also expect the occurrence to become more frequent, as any mechanical abrasion of the moving wires is likely to reduce the insulation on the wire.
You might have to have the clockspring replaced – alternatively you could disconnect the steering wheel horn switch wire (before it reaches the clockspring) and replace it with a large push switch mounted on the dash.
