Have you cleaned your IAC? I wouldn't worry too much about the cat just yet, those tend to cause more of a stink when they go. I'm on the app, so I can't grab you a link, but I had a thread about a rough idle, I imagine the parameters for the O2s wouldn't be that drastically different if you have access to a live feed scanner. CCKen posted the specs to watch out for on my thread and helped me narrow it down to a bad O2. Don't go buying parts before you check that though, stuff gets expensive quick.

ok..LATEST 411..mechanic PUT THE OTHER PCM IN..runs like a champ for about 10seconds but needs VIN and SKIM programmed? sound right? and if so, should that be all the PCM needs? lastly, can I get it done somewhere other than dealer?
Not sure about the vin,but a local locksmith can program the skim .

OK..i got the PCM..not sure what kind of quality is yet. The alarm is an omega excalibur and it appears the WJ came with Sentry Key..the 'no recognize key' alert dashbulb stays on and the Jeep won't fire aside from with starter fluid for about a second..looks like the anti-theft is kicking in and I need options..can the locksmith just recode the key w/ the aftermarket alarm to match the new PCM w/ VIN programmed? the PCM guys are willing to send me a new PCM to see if that works..can they program it w/ the vin and aftermarket alarm info? I am confused for sure but I'm running out of time and $$$...still 200 miles from home..HELP?

I hate to throw another wrench into this snafu, but I've heard too many horror stories about problems caused by aftermarket alarm systems in jeeps. If it were mine, I'd start by eliminating the Excaliber system until I got it running right and home.
AFAIK, the skim code HAS to be programed by the dealer in order to change it of if the code is lost somehow. IDK if the code is stored in the Body Control Module or in the PCM, but either way, I believe you need dealer help.

Hey Guys, Thanks for all the help. ACR sent me another PCM the next day, then when I get it to the stealer, the fuel pump goes out. Believe it or not, they let me provide my own $200 pump vs. their $900 model..WOW? Anyway, their scanner said it was MAP related. I replaced the MAP, IAC, TPS, CKS, several injectors..still a rough idle but it doesn't shut off so I'm just rollin on.My main concern now is the Transmission. It is jumping between 1700-1900 when in overdrive. It also has a problem when shifting into 2nd gear from 1st gear. It shifts fine but slips a tad for just a split second then grabs 2nd gear then shifts into 3rd & Overdrive fine. It shifts into 2nd gear just fine, and does not slip in 2nd gear, if I shift it manually, which I do 95% of the time now. It runs fine at 1500-1600rpms & 1900-2100rpms or basically at 55mph &75mph. It does not slip excessively. It just seems to "search" between 1700-1900..Once it hits 2nd gear, when shifted manually, it holds 2nd and 3rd gear fine when o/d button it disengaged(so it cant go into overdrive). I found out that the tranny is out of a 98GC &mine is a 99WJ. I really don't want to pull the tran if I can avoid it. Imagine that? haha.. Ideas?..Thanks again for all your help & input..
