I need help. I recently noticed my drive shaft, which is the double CV joint style, on my 2000 JGC WJ 4.7 V-8 was going bad. It was a bear to remove. Wouldnt compress so it did not come out with ease. I replaced it with a drive shaft from an auto store. It vibrated from about 50 mph up to 70. At 70mph the front boot blew all of its grease under the jeep. This all happened in about 10 miles on the road. Drove it home, dropped it out, returned it, got another one from same store and put it in. Did not vibrate but again at about 70 mph (10 miles on the interstate) the front boot blew all of its grease out. Drove it home and took back the drive shaft to the auto store. The original OEM only had lost its grease from the TC side CV joint. The differential boot is the one that has blown up twice. The auto parts store is saying there is somthing wrong with my jeep. Any ideas?????? I just replaced both CV axles on the front, both front axle bearings, and brakes while I was at it. Both the TC and Diff yokes feel fine, no play, no leaks, everything has fluid. The auto parts store says this is my last one even though they cant confirm if its there part or not and there is a life time warrenty on the driveshaft. The drive shaft they have been giving me is 350$ and its suppose to be a new one not a rebuild. The OEM dodge jeep one is 650$.
