has power but will not start
hi
i really need help.
1998 jeep grand cherokee limited with a v8
has power - lights, radio etc work but occaisinaly will not start.
battery has been tested and is ok
cables are ok
starter has been replaced (that was first thing to get done)
then mechanic decided it was the alarm system, undid the alarm system and for over a week all has been good. this evening ...again it will not start. leave it alone for a bit and it starts... what is wrong!
ok... here is more information. today i went to start it and it clicked like it was going to start and then went dead, but i still had power to all electrical stuff. a friend jiggled the wires under the dash and it started. it was a heavier type of wire about a half inch diameter. what is this and what can i do to fix it?

When it acts up try putting the gear selector in neutral and see if there is any change. You may need a neutral saftey switch or the gear selector cable might need to be adjusted.
