Have a 1998 grand limited 4x4. 5.2 engine with quadra-trac.
CV axles in front (short axle with cv boot on driver side).
Making a grinding sound that seems to be coming from front driver side. When I turn deep right or left. it stops until I straighten out.
Any body familiar with this type of thing? New brakes and calipers; thought the caliper was sticking.

 

so i take it that if you wiggle the truck while driving it gets louder while going one way and quiet going the other way?

 

The noise (and vibration) stops when I turn the wheel to make a deep turn. As soon as I straighten out the wheel, it starts agian.
