Unhappy grand cherokee ZJ oil pressure problem

Hi from Poland

I have just noticed that when the engine runs idle in my jeep
(2.5 turbo diesel, which you can see here: http://grandcherokeezj.blogspot.com ) the oil pressure drops to '0' - is this normal?
when I just slightly press the gas pedal it goes up to 4 were it normally
was earlier (the whole time)
It seems that this started hapening when I added that 'stop engine smoke'
gunk to the oil. do you think it is just the sensor acting funny now
or perhaps the oil pump is going?

Diesel?! Must be from over seas... ah yeah ok...

I would hope that its not normal. But my guess would be a faulty oil pressure switch. Its a common thing for our 4.0L motors, but don't know much of anything about the diesels. sorry

Yes, it's the Italian VM 2.5 litter Turbo Diesel motor.
When I was buying my Grand everyone here has their gasoline cars converted to propane because of fuel economy, however I didn't like the idea of having a 30-40 Galon tank full of volatile gas in my trunk so I went with the Diesel, and now I regret it - fuel economy is not great ...i.e.12-13L of diesel per 100km, power ....what power - yes it leaves most of the cars behind under the lights, but could use a little more power when offroad - could have had a 5.2 or 5.7L 'monster' much cheaper here + if I ripped out the petrol conversion, could also resell it at a good price.
The only problem is that it suprises me constantly with some small problems, leaks etc - I also hope that the problem is with the oil sensor- the STP stuff I added was said to seal smaller leaks - probably sealed off the opening in this unit and now it only reacts to higher pressure? I'm a little worried though as in a couple days I have to drive over 800 km with it, and I'm wondering if it will make it.

how long has it been since you changed the oil? as said before i had trouble with my 4.0 with the oil pressure and it was the pressure switch. i also noticed i went over the 3 month oil change and once i changed the oil some pressure came back.
