That's not a weld. I believe that is aluminum that has corroded off the wheel and bonded itself to the hub of the jeep, I've seen it alot. Take a flat head and hammer and chip at it to be sure but I'm 99% sure that's what that is.

Interesting, yup you were right. I've never seen or heard of anything like that before, first time for everything. Only the drivers side had it and the passenger side had none whatsoever, there was even a slight gap...

Yeah I've seen it a bunch of times in my time as a mechanic. Easy to mistake though because it does in fact look alot like a bead of weld.

Just lucky is all. Wheeling and dealing. Turned one fairly used up Thunderbird into a 00 wj via a trade. Turned that wj into a sweet bike, sold bike bought white jeep and another bike, and turned and turned that bike into the blue and green jeeps.

This is true. Green one's nice but has a siezed engine. Blue one is a 2001 and my white one, a 99 , needs a bit of work. Green is gonna be a parts vehicle for those two. My brown one on the other end has the 4.7
