Gear "slipping" Any advice or feedback appreciated
This question is for a 2006 Jeep grand cherokee 4x4 with automatic transmission.
So this past weekend while driving on a road trip my gear slipped out of drive and the engine started to rev. I pulled over, put the car in park, and then back in drive and everything was fine. This happened two more times while on this trip and once back in the winter. I had read some folks were having problem with the electronic shifter. I have also read it might be the transmission going. I just feel with only 92k miles it's a little early for the transmission to be going out on me. Any idea on what is causing this? I really don't want to take it to a dealership and I'm afraid on who to ask for help because I don't want to be pouring money into places that could not help at all. Any thoughts or comments would be awesome!
