fuel tank skid plate???

I noticed my ZJ doesn't have a skid plate to protect the plastic fuel tank. is there a cheap aftermarket kit anyone sells? what have you guys done? home made?

Hit the Junkyard or craigslist for a stock one. I got mine at the JY for $20.

X2. Try the JY. They're guaranteed to fit, and cheap. Get the engine and t-case skids while you're at it. Cheaper as a package usually.

were the skid plates not standard equipment? or did the PO just remove them from mine?

No they came as part of different option packages. My '97 has the Orvis and Up Country packages (among many other options), and the skid plates and tow hooks were included.
