Default Fuel injector question

hey guys

spent a good portion of the weekend working on the jeep..

do believe its going to need 3 injectors, 1,4,6. all show weak results from a cut out test. so i did some hunting and found a nice chart with some upgrade's for the dodge neon 22.5lb hr. 96-98 year range i believe..

do i just go to any auto parts store and pick up 6 of them and the retainer clips will slip right in?.

and i need to do a fuel pump also..?.. pressure surges when idling the engine from 40-50psi. running a constant speed it will stay about 45-48psi. but it was co-operating today to where it wouldn't stall out randumbly on me.. checked for injector leak by.. none.

tips.. advice?

Paying retail for injectors will cost a bundle. I got mine from a few 95 Neons at the local Pick n Pull for nothing. I just gave them a good cleaning and replaced the O rings.

I think this is what you have:
'96-'98, ........53030778, ...Grey, .......................23.2lb/hr@49psi(243cc/min@337KPa)=21.71lb/hr@43.5psi(228cc/min@300kpa)

The better alternatives are in house injectors, Neon 2.0L 95-96 have 238cc (22.6 lb) injectors in it, 0280155703 (OEM 5277739).

These are EV6 4 hole injectors with clip nut. Better fuel economy, better throttle response, better power.
The disadvantage is that you'll need to take these out of two cars.
A list of vehicles that came with these injectors can be found here:
http://www.fuelinjector.citymaker.co...25/4735791.htm

Another alternative are the 1999-00 Corvette LS1 injectors 0280155890,

They flow a bit less than the Neon injectors at 3 bar (22.5lb/hr) but will do just fine in any 4.0L. Some refer to these as 26.6lb/hr injectors but this is the flow at 4bar, at 39PSI/2.7bar they will flow 21 lb/hr

So why replace 248cc/min injectors with 238cc/min injectors? the EV6 injectors are capable of better atomization of the fuel hence less fuel is needed each stroke for the right A/F mixture.

Another option would be the 2001-02 Camaro, 2001-04 Corvette LS1 injectors 0280155931

which flow a bit less but does have a clip nut. Both will out perform the older 24lb/hr EV1.3 FMS-M9593-A302 injectors.

ALL OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED EV6 INJECTORS HAVE A JETRONIC/MINITIMER/EV1 ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND WILL CLIP STRAIGHT INTO A 87-98 CHEROKEE LOOM.

wow.. information overload on the brain. ill have to read it a few times to get all the info in. lol

so what your saying... http://www.fuelinjector.citymaker.co...25/4735791.htm

Best bang for the buck? and yes, im wanting to upgrade from single pintle to the ev6. not to overly concerned about gaining a bunch of hp's but like you said, they out preform with less fuel because of design improvements.

and yeah, ill buy then new. i work on diesel's for a living.. granted these are wicked easy to change.. but do it 1 time.. do it right.

and update.. ill be dropping the tank, dissemble the fuel sender, bosch pump. and working to figure out a pressure regulator that will be better then whats in it. OR find a new OEM unit.

and also. i have to get the build date off the door when i get back out to it.. b.c im thinking it was built in 97. year model 98.
