Fuel filter removal
Hi all,
New to the site, and need help with the fuel filter removal process. I ran out of gas, and my 94 Grand Cherokee would not start after I filled the tank. So I crawled underneath, banged on the filter, and it started. So, I want to replace the filter. The fittings on both ends look like plastic, and I don't want to risk damaging them. What is the correct way to remove them.
Thx

The filter on my '99 had 2 different types of connectors. One of them you pinched the plastic tabs together and slid the tube out, but the other one you pushed the plastic fitting towards the filter and pulled the tube while holding the fitting in. Don't know if it's the same on your '94 though.

on my 93 zj, they were quick disconnects on both sides. you just push the little plastic tabs together on the ends of the hoses, wiggly the hose around and TRY to pull them off. they can be a real SOB a lot of the time to get off
