Default Front Wiper not parking on 2002?

2002 JGCL 102,000miles
Has anyone run into this problem? Sometimes it's a quick fix. Thanks!

As in it never stops or just doesn't hit the same place twice? On my XJ, the wipers were really sloppy. All it needed was to have the nut that attached the mechanism to the motor crank tightened up.

When you shut down or just turn the wipers off they park in the middle of the windshield. Other wise they work fine.

Stopping in mid-cycle when turning the key off would be normal.

Shutting them off with the switch and having them just stop is odd. I wonder if there is a separate "return to home" circuit for the motor?

If they always end up in the same place in the middle of the windshield, the wiper actuator may have been rotated on the motor drive. It might be possible to disconnect the mechanism from the motor, allow it to "park" and reconnect the mechanism with the wipers in the correct location.

also if you are mechanically inclined take the motor assembly and check that the commutator is in the right spot. if not relocate it to the right spot lube with dielectric grease and reassemble the motor assembly and test it out.

did the same thing on my 81 vw pickem up the motor was all corroded and the commutator was stuck took it apart emory clothed all of the contact surfaces and coated the whole thing in water proof dielectric grease and has worked tip top for the last 8 years

Ziggy253 & 2Evil4U...thanks for the info....I will check out both situations you mentioned. Now I have to wait until the snow stops falling....I have had this happen on another car and it was an in-line fuse that was blown, sometimes it's that easy.
