What was the torque spec that you used for the hub? Factory spec is 175 foot pounds. If you over torqued or under torqued the hubs it could have blown the bearings. Who manufactured the bearings, they could have a warranty on them too.

Torquing the axle nut properly is important because it sets the preload on the bearings. This doesn't have anything to do with the shafts you installed.

I bought the bearings from summit. I rented the torque wrench from orileys and set to 175 I guess it could have been out of calibration. I did away with my abs that shouldn't have anything to do with the problem correct?

The tone rings on the ABS would not effect this either. Could it be possible that summit sent you the wrong hubs? It is very unlikely that you would have 2 bad hubs right out of the box.

No offense but it really sounds like installation error, especially if you lost both bearings. I'm going to guess that they were over torqued and the excess friction heat killed em.
