Default Fan relay CEL issue

I just got a 1999 GC Laredo 4.0 that had a fan relay issue and the previous owner cut the oem plugs off and hard wired a switch to the electric fan to keep it cool. Now I have replaced the fan relay and had the AC serviced, cleared the codes and eliminated the switch. The fan comes on with the AC as it should and also comes on at temp. But the wiring is now hard wired between the fan and the relay.

The problem that I am having is that every morning when I start it up I get the CEL again. I get the code reader out and it shows its the fan relay so I clear it. Everything is then fine it cycles as it should. It will be fine for the rest of the day even hours later after sitting.

Question what color wires should be connected from the fan to relay? Right now its green to blue and then black/pink to black.

Any thoughts on what to check next?

It seems that the PCM is getting a bad signal at initial start up?
thanks
