Default Exhaust Rattle-97 GC

I have a 97 Grand Cherokee - 4.0L. Absolutely love it! Only annoying issue is that the exhaust rattles intermittently..no pattern to it. Anyone else have this issue? What did you do to correct it?

Did you check to see if you have a broken or loose hanger? Those can cause rattle. Also crawl under the rig and shake your muffler and pipes (make sure their cooled off) and see if you can track down the noise. Make sure you post your findings so all of us can learn all we can.

Default Hi

My jeep had the same problem. It turned out to be the baffles inside the muffler, so fitted new muffler and now it's fine. hope this helps?

Will check to see if hangaers are ok--if so then maybe the muffler itself. Thanks!!!

I had that to, i tok it to a exhaust shop and hi fixed it in 1/2 minut for free :-) He loosen to screws rigth behind the catalyst and then bend the rest a litle bit higher up and now its fine :-) Look under the back of the car and have someone to kick (easy) on the exhoust tube back (kick/bend it down) on the car and see if its hit something abow the back axel.
