EVAP leak
Thought I might ask on here maybe someone has had this problem. I have a mil code 442. So I guess I should follow the charcoal canister( anyone know where this is on a 5.2 98) hose back to the gas tank and up to the engine. I'm told that the green cap which is located by the air filter box is somehow connected to the evap system. I tried two gas caps with no luck. If I understand it correctly if when you unscrew the cap and there is a gas sounding release then the system is closed as far as the gas tank is concerned.
Has anyone had this code for a small evap leak?
How much would it cost to do a smoke test?
Also what would a bi directional scanner be used for in the evap system?
Any where else I should be looking?
I also have had the brake booster replaced recently , are there any hoses for the evap located near there?
Thx for any help
