1995 ZJ 4.0L 76,000 miles.
New radiator, water pump, severe duty fan clutch and 195* t-stat.
Dash gauge reads very close to my infrared gun, fully warm it runs 185*, I've installed two 195* thermostats with the same result.
I boiled the stat's and both started to open at 190* and fully opened at 200* but installed the temps stay at 185* or slightly lower.
The clutch fan engages at cold start up like it should then free wheels and seems to free wheel other than that. The fan clutch will engage in stop
and go with the AC on and outside temps of 100*+ with the dash reading 200* and stay engaged for only a short time then free wheel again.

I recently did a road trip and averaged 20MPG so it seems the engine is running well.
My ZJ is bone stock except for a free-flowing muffler the previous owner installed.

Should I just be happy I don't have over heating issues that so many have and just forget about it?
