We just bought a 1995 4 wheel drive Jeep Grand Cherokee limited with an automatic transmission. We have a 2008Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a blown engine. Would it be possible to put the 1995 engine in the body of the 2008 Jeep?

 

There is a thread about this topic in the stickies up above. My first instinct is to say no.

 

With the power of an angle grinder and a welder, all things are possible.

 

I went and looked, but I have no idea what that was trying to tell me. 😂

 

The engine won't bolt up to the bellhousing of the 08 Grand Cherokee transmission. If you want to swap the whole drivetrain over, it'll require significant modifications. As in custom engine mounts, trans mounts, driveshafts, shift linkages, wiring, cooling system, etc.
