Default engine speed sensor location?

hey guys i need to know the location of the engine speed sensor on an 2001 4.7 grand cherokee. thanks for your help!

"Engine Speed Sensor", a/k/a CranKshaft Position sensor (CKP.) Needs to be somewhere it can read the crankshaft trigger wheel, therefore typically either at the front of the engine (reading trigger notches on the harmonic damper) or at the rear of the engine on the bellhousing (reading trigger notches on the flexplate/flywheel. You ahve a flexplate - automatic transmission.)

There are some cases where the trigger wheel is midway through the engine, with the CKP inside, but I think it was just GM that did that.

It is above the starter take off the stater and you will see it.
dont forget to remove one of your battery terminal before take off the starter

i think they are mounted in the left side of the transmission case..hope i got it right..

It's mounted into the passenger side of the block above the starter on the 4.7L V8.
