New to this forum. Just bought a 2000 G.C Larado with a 4.7v8. I need to try to turn the crank by hand but I was wondering if it is better to come from the top or bottom? I know I need to remove things either way..just wondering which is quicker. Not a novice-just in a hurry. I think engine seized.

I can't believe no one posted a reply. I know it was a simple question. Oh well, never mind.

From underneath. Use a breaker bar (or large ratchet) and socket on the crankshaft bolt. Sorry but I don't know what size socket.

Thanks. Unfortunately my wife's car died Friday night & I spent all weekend on it. Now it's raining.
