New to this forum. Just bought a 2000 G.C Larado with a 4.7v8. I need to try to turn the crank by hand but I was wondering if it is better to come from the top or bottom? I know I need to remove things either way..just wondering which is quicker. Not a novice-just in a hurry. I think engine seized.
I can't believe no one posted a reply. I know it was a simple question. Oh well, never mind.

From underneath. Use a breaker bar (or large ratchet) and socket on the crankshaft bolt. Sorry but I don't know what size socket.
You need to remove the skid plate, right??

Probly... If its in the way of the crank bolt... Turn in tightening direction only and make sure its in neutral with ebrake on
Thanks. Unfortunately my wife's car died Friday night & I spent all weekend on it. Now it's raining.
