What is the nut on the left side of distributed that has 2 wires running to it. I know the nut on the right takes the distributed out.

No. I don't think it i
s a ground wire because it is plugged in. It is right at the base of the distributor on the left side .it is on 1996 grand cherokee 4.0 engine
