Disabling awd in 05 gc!!
I have a 2005 grand cherokee 5.7l hemi. I love it more then words can describe. The awd system is amazing and its a blast in the snow. But i have a couple of questions (1) how do i disable the awd and leave it on rwd? (2) will disabling the awd improve emissions?

if im not mistaken allwheeldrive is only 1 tire gets power untill its needed elsewhere. 4wheel drive is when all 4 tires get power at the same time. alittle bit of a diffrence. so no it wouldnt save you gas money if you disconnected it. it would probably make it worse cause the computers are programed for awd. not only 2wd.
i could be wrong and id let someone with more experience chime in.
