Default Dealership screwing with me?

I have bought a 2004 JGC freedom . I have a popping sound under load during kinda heavy acceleration in 4WD.(front axel area) It is a series of 5 to 6 pops, I think its the ring and pinion. But the stealership tells me its just gear lash? 2ND issue it sometimes it is slow to shift to overdrive could not find the problem.

Sounds to me like the CV shaft from the T-case to the front end has a bad joint.

Well I took it in to the Jeep Dealer, took the master tech out for a spin. He thought it was the something coupler. He put it on the lift to check fluids well there was some (but not close to full). Had oil changed about 1000 miles before that. Now there buying me a new one t-case.

think he meant the viscous coupler.

but, my bet is the front axle shaft joints.

driveshafts don't pop, they just vibrate and humm

Yeah, popping is definitely a CV joint rather than a U-joint od Gear Lash. I was a Toyletta guy for a long time. I'm all too familiar with the sound of a CV/Birfield joint going bad. Sounds like your Mom's popcorn machine.

cv put it in 4wd and get under it and twist by hand all the cv shafts also shifting could be low tranny fluid or trans filter or screwed auto trans
