Default Dash lights flickering

I have a 96 grand Cherokee 4.0 and the lights in the dash flicker when I have my headlights on. Has anyone got a solution on how to fix this?

probably the sliding dimmer switch right next to the headlight switch. you could try moving the slider a little to see if it stops the flickering, if it does you could repalce it . mine has been doing that for awhile but not anoying enuff to replace it yet.

You could clean your current one up. (if its not 2 far gone) I did mine & have had zero problems since. (Over 6mo ago) It is easy & will save you a few nickles. I disassembled my dash enough to get the headlight/dimmer ?moduale? out. took it apart, cleaned contacts & elec. lubed it, connecter also. Good to go. Careful small fragile parts. Do not overtighten. I would almost bet I have seen that post & solution before. Search it, I'm sure they could give you way more details than my reply. It is an option & I hope it is a simple fix for you. Good Luck.

My 98 done the same thing, then my headlights were starting to flash on and off too. I had to replace the whole switch.

Well I solved my problem in stead of fooling with taking the switch apart I got 4 blue l.e.d lights and put one in each corner and now it is lit up and I can seen all the gauges

on most zjs that have this problem you just have to re heat up the solder on the back of the light control moudle thing, thats what fixed mine
