Default Dash Gage "High" Oil Pressure

***Newbie Needs Help***

Ref: 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
4.0 Liter
130k Miles

Good morning all.

This is my first post to this forum and I have some "Noob" Questions.

The other day when starting my Jeep Cold, I noticed that the in Dash Oil Pressure Gage ran up and spiked above "High". I shut it down immediately and started it again with the same results. I'm thinking that it may be related to a faulty pressure sensor and am hoping that it has nothing to do with the Oil Pump.

Could someone point me in the right direction to the following questions:
1.) Where is the location of the sensor on the engine?
2.) Removal Tools and Procedure?
3.) Part Number / Cost?

Much Thanks in advance for your assistance.

All the Best!

If its like the regular cherokee the sending unit is right above the oil filter and the autozone p# PS401. Google is your friend.
