And how are you going to do that? The multi cylinder misfire codes are a clue to check the fuel pressure.

did you look under the distributer cap to see what condition the cap and rotor is in?
Could be cam sensor or crank sensor, sadly the best way to check them is with a scope and compared to known good data displays. I have had a few in the shop that turned out to be the ignition coil dropped secondary voltage through the housing, causing a stumble/hesitation.

My 96, 4.0 had the same issues about two years ago. End up being the PCM. google 96 grand cherokee pck issues and you will find your same scenario.

Default Same problem

I have the same problem. I have no idea as it is intermittent. Some days not at all but it has gotten worse. Bucking until I let off gas. I am switching gears more smoothly by having to let off gas until next gear is engaged. Did you ever find the issue.

Default Answer to jeep bucking or cutting out.

I posted that my jeep 2001 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE would buck upon switching gears or climbing grades or just driving in general. I searched for an answer and TPS was mentioned as well as map sensor. It turned out to be the crank shaft sensor. Kind of pricey $100 but once I installed it fixed everything.
