OP- How much lift are you running? I'm at 5.5", and my DS doesn't look anywhere near that extended. As well, I'm running fixed extended rear LCA's and stock rear UCA's.

Yes you need a new rear driveshaft.

And yes get longer front brake lines. Get brake lines from a mid 90's Chevy 1500 (front) and take off the bracket for the rear brakes so they dangle down that will get you more slack.

And to me 6" of lift on ANYTHING with short arms is stupid as you'll break mounts etc. For 6" of lift you need long arms. 4"-4.5" of lift is the Max for short arms and anything more you need LA's.
i got 3.5" of lift, the people i bought the control arms from said i didnt need longer driveshafts (just trying to make a sale) but it seemed to do fine, i took it out in the sand dunes, and let me tell you i BEAT on it... my rear end came off the ground several times, amazing-ly nothing broke, it was awsome. im still gonna try to get a new driveshaft does anyone know any good places ive heard of tom woods... and how much longer would i need it

Well, the DS issue is caused by the rear LCA's. Like I said, I'm lifted more than you and those angles on your ZJ are fubar'ed. Are those LCA's adjustable? Or better yet, what is the length on them?

Tom Woods makes some nice DS's, but they're pricy. Try also High Angle Driveline (friend has some of their custom DS's), JE Reel Driveshaft, or Carolina Driveshaft.

2" longer? The stock control arms are right around 16", with aftermarket adjustable LCA's for 4.5" of lift around 16.75". My rear LCA's for 5.5" are 16.6" eye to eye.

Did you buy LCA's for a long arm setup?

oh well i dont know i just kinda held it up to it when i was putting them on, its not a long arm (unfortuantly) i already got the extend lowers and uppers on so im not worried about them anymore, but if i need a longer driveshaft i looked on tom woods and they said this " If you have substantial lift and want the smoothest drive shaft, we suggest a double cardan type drive shaft." i got money for it and it all makes sense, what do you think

Well, if you're going to spend money on a new rear DS, you'll kick yourself if you didn't get a SYE in there while you're at it.

You don't really "need" them on Grand's unless you're lifted quite a bit. Now, that being said, they come in handy for situations where the DS needs to be removed. Remove it now, and you'll puke out all of your tranny fluid very quickly, with an SYE installed, no problems like that.

Regardless, no DS is going to fix your angles like that. Those angles are ****ed beyond belief. Have you driven it anywhere like that? Those u-joints aren't going to last long like that.

DS angles look fine now.

That's insane how short your DS is though, I'm lifted higher than you, and it seems you're sky high. Take it to a local DS shop, and see if they can't extend yours. My front DS is at the shop right now getting redone.

Yep, sure can. Ask around your group to see if they recommend any good shops, there's lots of shops, but even fewer good ones. If you get a bad shop, then you'll be chasing vibes forever.
