So I just did the 249-231 transfer case swap in my ZJ (1994 V8) about a week and a half ago and yesterday was the first time I was able to truly engage the 4 Part Time and 4 Low due to needing a u-joint replaced on the front drive shaft and when I felt it engage in both I just put it back into 2wd and after I backed out of from where I was and then I threw in drive and there was a grinding/whining noise that occured so I threw in back in park and it stopped but idk if it was the tranny or the t case. I checked the tcase that it was in 2wd then it was fine but then I noticed that when I turned at low speeds and especially this morning when it was cold but I'm not sure where it's coming from but it seems like its right under the shifter for the transmission...Could it be that when I started to go it was like stuck in between 2wd and 4 part time?? Its still driveable but I'm jus lost on this one...
