Buying my first ZJ, could use some good opinions on it =)
1995
ZJ Limited
119,000 miles
5.2L V8 w/ Towing Package
Only mechanical issue is it has a small oil leak from the head of the block.
Rear door hydraulics are worn and need replacing.
Stereo display is dead but stereo works.
A/C Blows but isn't cold (not coolant persay, there is a leak)
1 scratch, 1 small tip of the finger sized chip in paint, 1 small crack in the windshield.
2 Sets of wheels/rims.
Clean interior, clean exterior.
Minor sun wear on plastic parts outside.
Remote keyless device lost, replaceable.
new fan clutch, new water pump, new battery.
Cost:
$2,900 (negotiable)
All the lights/electronics/etc work from what I can tell. I drove it. 0-40 before even getting out of the intersection from a dead stop! I was excited. I own a 1990 6cyl Wrangler so this was something else haha =)
How does this deal sound?
I figure a new seal will fix the oil leak, I would put in an aftermarket stereo anyways, and the A/C I'm used to living without and that can be fixed later anyways. I am sure off road there will come many more scratches, chips, and cracks to deal with anyways =)
Thanks!!

well sounds like a good deal if it was here in canada. That oil leak will most likely be the valve cover and these new magnum engines use real nice gaskets, so I would just gently test the bolts and tighten it down a bit. Might just fix the problem. they are a reusable gasket and were one of the best things dodge ever did as valve cover leaks have plagued this engine since birth. lol. My ac don't work well either. not sure if a bit of a recharge will fix it or not.
anyway sounds good and welcome to the forum. hope it works out for you and you can show us some pics of the toy. Good luck. Get it as cheap as you can. Take cash with you and say hey I have 2200 bucks here in my pocket what you think?

Sounds like a good price for a V8 GC. Its close to what they are going for around here.
id probably take 24 $100 bills and hold them out and see if theyd take it.
All they can do is say no right ?

Sounds like a good buy and good condition...Don't be ashamed to offer
$ 2200.00 for it they might take it if they want ot get rid of it...
I just bought a 95 Jeep Cherokee Grand Orvis Limited for $ 1100.00.
Clean on the inside, not to bad on the outside a little rust under-neath the Jeep...
I had to put a 02 sensor in it, and door hinge pins in the driver side door.
The four wheel drive lo would not work, but I found where it was unattached next to the transfer case, a little pin had slipped out that controls the shifter, put it back and it went into 4x4 lo, I was so thankful...
Other problems:
Rear wiper does not work
Also my compressor does not kick on when u cut AC on.
Over all not to bad for what I gave for the Jeep.

There is a low pressure switch on them. So if your Freon level is too low the compressor won't kick on and burn itself up. When I recharged my A/C, I didnt have a vacuum pump to draw the system down, so I jumpered across the switch to cause the compressor to come on and suck the freon into the system. Is it the correct way of doing it??? Heck no.. Did I get my A/C recharged? Yep.. and its nice and cool.

There's no need to jump the switch, it will still take the freon, and the compressor clutch will kick in after it gets 3oz.'s of freon. It will cycle on/off as it nears the 3 oz.'s. Remember to always add freon to the low pressure side and never the high side. If the system is completely empty you should replace the drier and add oil to the system.
