Default blew up cv driveshaft

blew up my front cv driveshaft in my 95 ZJ. ive heard that the cv style is not great for off roading anyway, so im going to swap it to the u joint style. i have some other stuff i need to do to the jeep before i can put in another driveshaft, and i will need to drive the jeep without the driveshaft in. i have a 242 transfer case, so i can just run it in 2wd without hurting anything, right? i did notice that after i pulled the driveshaft out, when i backed the jeep out of my driveway, there was a clicking noise and i could feel it in the floor. is this normal? it did not do that before i removed the driveshaft.

as far as the swap, i just need the driveshaft and the yoke right? and can i pull it from an XJ? there is only 1 ZJ at the local yard and i dont know if the driveshaft is there. there was a bunch of XJs there.

As long as its the same length it will work yeah. If you could find one with the same transfer case and front axle as your zj that would be the best pick. Take measurements before you go, that will help

Do not drive it without the shaft in there! If you do for any length of Time the wheel bearing can separate and the wheel will come off! Please put it back in until you can source a new one!
