I have the dreaded blender door issue with my heat on 99 GC limited i have the entire dash out evacuated the air conditioning disconnected the lines at the firewall drained the coolant but havent been able to disconnect those lines at the firewall.

So my question is the (what I'll call the heater box) wont come out so I can get at the doors. anyone have any insight on this. I have the haynes manual and the diagram doesnt seem to match.

I've heard about the heater treater but its a little late for that im already more than into this MFer of a project.I wasn't sure exactly what my issue was until i was able to get it apart and see what was going on. If I was aware of the AC evac and coolant drain i would have more than likely went this direction. i still am not totally convinced it is the door Iwas thinking it's the motor/actuator as it works intermittenly thats y i want to open the box and inspect the doors.

Well if you are sure its the blend doors you want to check, the only route that I can direct you towards involves cutting into the black plastic body. Since you already have the dash out this would be a breeze for you.
