Default best/east way to clean out axle tubes?

I'm installing a locker in my Dana 30 when I pulled the axles out the tubes were full of dirt. The axle splines were covered in dirt when I pulled them out.

When I reinstall the axles I don't want them to get covered in dirt then that dirt gets into the diff.

What would be the easiest and best way to clean out the axle tubes?

thanks

Shove a wadded up rag through the axle tubes with a broom handle and flush with brake cleaner.

Thanks everyone. I got them cleaned up and the plastic shield put back into position so hopefully the won't fill back up with dirt.

Good grief. What did the bearings look like if the axles were full of dirt?

the bearings are protected by a rubber seal as it goes into the diff. and the outer bearings are a sealed unit mounted to the knuckle. So no dirt gets to them. The reason I wanted to clean out the tubes was to keep from pushing the dirt past the inner seal witch would get the bearings and the diff dirty.

Shes all back together and the locker is doing its thing.
