I have a 97 Grand Cherokee Laredo - wife driving last week said the gauges were going all funky and then stopped working altogether. tried to start the next day and it was dead. Replaced the battery and it was running fine. 3 days later my wife said the gauges were going funky again (particularly the voltage gauge).

Got up this morning and vehicle started. Was warming up outside - about 20 minutes later came outside and car was not running but there was a clicking going on inside the vehicle like all of the relays were clicking.

Don't know what this is - is the starter bad? is it the solenoid? Alternator was replaced a year ago - don't think its the alternator other wise it wouldn't even kick over.

Any ideas????
