I have a 98 grand cherokee, 6 cylinder. My battery keeps dying about every 3-4 days if I don't drive it. I disconnected the battery for a few days to make sure it wasn't just a weak battery but the battery held a charge. So I hooked up my amp meter and noticed that the cluster fuse was drawing 1.9 amps ( I think that's what it means ) and when I pulled the fuse it went down to .1 amps. Question is could it be a bad instrument cluster or what would cause this. Thanks in advance for your help

Most generally a 50mA draw is the spec, meaning anything over .05 amps is excessive current draw. You are on the right track at finding what is causing the draw though. Usually a good start is unplugging the fuse(s) then you need to see what all is on the suspect fuses circuit. Then you may need to go to the particular components and unplug them.

I pulled the fuse and noticed that not only my instrument cluster went out, I also have no interior lights. The switches for the interior lights are on that fuse, once I get in and turn the key the lights will come on. I suspect that I might have a bad door switch, or the relay that turns the lights on. Any thoughts. Could a door switch that doesnt get pushed in all the way cause a draw?
