PLEASE, before posting technical questions, take some time to help others out, by adding details in the user control panel. There's 2 ways to do this. First, in the upper left corner on the front page of the site, is a menu button labeled UserCP.




After you click on that you'll see this menu:





Please take the time to click on the highlighted sections and fill out the vehicle information for your vehicle. The signature link is also helpful for any additional information like mods done, links to your build or other vehicles owned.

This helps EVERYONE out by informing them immediately about your year, make, model, etc.

These details are necessary for responders to accurately answer your questions without guessing or having to ask what are the specifics of the vehicle you are referring to. You can add these details easily and permanently by creating a signature or adding your truck details to your existing signature.

5 minutes of your time doing this now will save a ton of time and effort later.

I did what I could and what I know about my jeep. This is why I am on here. I don't know which tranny I have or Transfer case. I am looking to change out all the fluids but there are a ton of different options. Mine is a bone stock 1996 grand cherokee laredo with a 4.0 and Selec-Trac. Any recommendations on fluids and brands?. I usually run Mobil 1 or Royal purple in my other vehicles. I need to fix the motor oil leak before putting in expensive syn oil.

Greetings. Okay. i have found my CP and was editing it when i came across a lapse in my knowledge.
I have a 1993 jeep Grand Cherokee but i do not know which of these to call mine.
There is a selection for the following:
Grand Cherokee ZJ
Grand Cherokee WJ
Grand Cherokee WK
Grand Cherokee WK2

can anyone tell me how to know for sure which mine is? Hint.... i think it is a "Limited" only because the lettering on the jeep is in gold whereas my Laredo was silver lettering..
